  • My tummy hurts, ruined friend's plans

Yesterday one of my friends asked if I wanted to see the Hobbit on Thur. Some time before he wanted to see it on Fri, but I said sure. He said on Thur. afternoon he had a luncheon from 1-3, but he'll meet me at 3:30 at the movies.

Today, I have bad diarrhea, stomach cramping, nausea. It comes and goes. One min., I feel fine, next, I feel like shit (and shitting). First, I was hoping it would stop and I'll be fine. But since it keeps on going on, I don't think I could go to the movies. Best case, I'll be getting up a lot to go to the bathroom and never shit my pants.

So I message my friend, tell him my problem.

He calls me. Now, guess what he said:

    a) I'm sorry you feel bad, hope you feel better, maybe we can catch another movie another time.
    b) I bought the Imax tickets, and got them on Fandango and paid for the reserve seating. You owe me $32.
    c) Take Imodium. Why didn't you tell me last night you weren't feeling well? Those tickets cost me a lot of money. Now I have to miss my luncheon and take my mom to the movies.

B and C would be my guess.

    Get better soon.

If it's B or C, he's not much of a friend. I'd be telling him I was sorry that my BEING SICK "ruined his plans." And I wouldn't go to the movies with him ever.

I had that virus a few days ago. I went home sick, which I never do. It hurt, like stabbing pains. Anyway, a is the only kind answer.

I'd reconsider the word "Friend" being used if it was C. And B but I'll give some flex on that...

thanks for the thoughts on my getting better. I feel better today.

usually, when I break plans because I'm sick, he tells me a). But his answer yesterday was c).

In fact, he went on with, "why can't you go anyway?" I should have told him he was being inconsiderate (because he breaks plans with me because he is tired, though latter on I figured out he was never too tired to go out drinking). I did say I would have to get up a lot to go to the bathroom, and I was cramping so much I think I would have problems driving. Then I blew up on him, telling him I can't believe how he can't understand I am sick, I don't feel well, I can't go.
