Soo...
Over the past few months I've been experimenting with a new little sewing project. Technique, fabrics to use, neat gadgets to employ... I think it was all worth it!
What is this project?
SPRITE PILLOW CASES!
Check out the original prototype:
This one has since gone to my boyfriend X3. He really likes Red Mage, that's why I started with this sprite.
And HERE is the FABRIC EXPERIMENT RED MAGE:
I decided that instead of using fabrics that are "tone-on-tone" (IE, red pattern on red fabric, or white pattern on white fabric) to use fabrics with varying pattern colors that read the color I wanted instead of just straight up being the color I wanted.
(Note that the experiment Red Mage is not 100% finished, I just need to finish constructing the case which is the easiest darn part! That's why you see random strings at the edges of the fabric.)
I think my time was well spent. (Both of these are cases to fit a 16x16-inch pillow.) I also think I've just managed to figure out the process to make several of them at one time. Boy-oh-boy!
