My version of the hated Back To School

As I have stated before, I live right next to a high school.

Parking snarls and little kiddies trampling my lawn aside

My notice that it is ALMOST back to school is

NOT the BTS TV adverts just after July 4th
NOT the full blown BTS displays in the local superstores, Clearance Swamp
NOT Halloween stuff already being displayed

BUT

1. listening to the preseason football practice in the afternoons
2 listening to the Marching Band preseason practice/try-outs in the school parking lot this afternoon.

Damn quiet time is almost over.

Could be worse. The high school a couple blocks from me has a drum and bagpipe band. And that's in addition to the regular marching band and football practice.

In other words, I feel your pain.

There's a church on the corner of my block. During the school year they have an after school program that seems to consist mostly of children screaming their heads off in the parking lot. It sounds like a riot.
