  • Yes, we will reinstate that flight JUST for you

Told to me by one of the exec. assistants at work. One of the bigwigs planned a trip to the FL Keys for some type of conference, and was notified that the airline had changed the flight schedule for his return. So he asked the EA to change them as he didn't like or the flights they assigned him to, didn't work. which she did.

But then he realized that his flight down had also been changed, and well, he wanted that afternoon flight!!! EA is actually a former FA so she knows how it all works. So she calls the airline to confirm that the flight he was initially on no longer exists. And it doesn't. Then joked that yes, she will be happy to call them back and demand they reinstate his preferred flight, JUST for him.

Of course, it will cost about $10,000, or whatever the hell is costs to put a plane in the air these days
When you start at zero, everything's progress.

I believe you're off by at least a couple of orders of magnitude. I don't think $10K would even buy the fuel for most trips, let alone the cost of the airplane or the salaries of the crew and such.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
The other, of course, involves orcs." -- John Rogers
