I'm running Vista home premium, and I can do it. I just have to hit print screen, not even ctrl + print screen. Though the Ctrl + works as well. Granted, I didn't do it in a game, but I took a screen cap of my typing this reply no problem. Can you take a cap at all? Or just not in those places?

      try alt+printscreen...

also, some games have their own printscreen button... for example, i think that in BF2, you had to hit f10 or somesuch to take a screenshot.

You can also press ALT + PRINT SCREEN to get a full picture of the game or press C like the person above said..

Pressing "C" on the keyboard is the game's camera. You can also access the pictures you've taken through the game files.

the above is what i found... though i don't know if it will work or not (says alt+prt scrn should) but if it's a special keystroke, your instruction manual should say what it is....

How about Fn + PrtSc? That's what my keyboard has.

In the Sims2, it has a camera feature. Press the C key to take a picture and V to capture video. It stores the files in their respective folders in sims2 folders

On my IBM laptop with XP, they all work - PrtSc, Ctrl+PrtSc and Alt+PrtSc.

Try using just the Print Screen button. It can be a little confusing, but on most keyboards the special functions are below the standard presses on the function keys.

This is a pic of my keyboard. Here, the Print Screen button is shown as PrtSc and is the key's primary function. The secondary function is shown in blue and as activated by pressing Fn at the same time.
I think, therefore I am. But I am micromanaged, therefore I am not.

I have a HP Pavilion dv9005us. If the "prt sc" has a box around it, you need to hit the "fn" key before. Ctrl-FN-prt sc works for me as well as just Fn-prt sc
