Question Well, we moved but...

So far we have discovered that the remote for the garage door opener doesn't work and I can't program my van without the hand held remote, there's a leak from the upstairs bathroom into the laundry room, and there's dog hair everywhere, including the fridge.

Luckily, hubby has ordered a replacement remote, the previous homeowner will take care of the leak, and I can clean up the dog hair.

Unfortunately, when hubby and BIL moved in my piano, they got black grease on my beige dining room carpet. Anyone know a good way to get it out?

My MIL had Stanley Steamer come out and clean her kitchen chairs a few months back. They also left her a bottle of the cleaner that they used. A few days later my kids got green shit (From sprinkles used to decorate cookies) stained onto the chairs and carpet. This cleaner took care of it no problem.

If you have a stanley steamer near you see if they just sell the cleaner, I know it worked good on green dye nasty crap, it may work on grease.

My parents use a product called Spot Shot that works great! I don't know if it's available in the States, but in Canada, it's a blue aerosol can with an orange top.

I personally go to the car-care aisle of the local Crappy Tire, and pick up a bottle of Meguir's Car Stain Remover. It's worked great for me, both in the car and out.

If you have as part of the contract that ____ number of garage remotes will be left with the property (In Texas it is part of the disclosure statement) then the seller is responsible for providing working remotes . . .you can have them reimburse for that expense.

Was the house supposed to be move in ready? Fully cleaned? or as - is? Did you get to do a final walk through?
If it was supposed to be cleaned . . .hire a service and have the seller reimburse you.

Yes, spot shot is a product that can be found in the states. . . .however for grease . . .I like going to auto supply and talking to them. However with any product I would do a spot test in a back corner of a closet . . .just to make sure the product doesn't remove the color from the carpet. (Use of closet corner is just in case it does remove color - then you don't have another spot to deal with)
