Default Check it out Gravekeeper! Someone went to Nunavut on purpose!

Here's a thread on another forum about someone's vacation to Nunavut. There are some nice photos, and comments from the OP and others give some insight into why Gravekeeper's "customers" seem a bit "off". I thought ya'll would enjoy it.

I think I may have actually learned something about Nanavut... it is worse than I had imagined (though I now understand GK's callers)

though that board is weird... I'm kinda surprised that they would put someone on probation for "wait so if u wanna visit someone, you just enter their house like "lol hay guyz" and look for them?" (granted I don't know what that poster may have done before that, but still).

Kinda makes me want to go.

And once I hit the price of the can of soda, made me glad I lived in the Sunny South.

The poster was likely probated for using one of the many banned catchphrases that quickly grow tiresome.

So you can't use stupid netspeak but when you edit a post it says "This post was f*cked around with by ..."

I so want one of those license plates!

The Yukon is the only territory that doesn't use them, it makes me sad. I want a polar bear on the back of my car.

It takes a special sort of person to be able to live in Nunavut-really, live anywhere up here besides Whitehorse or Yellowknife (And even still, when I tell people where I live when I'm back in the world, I get weird looks). There are a lot of people who do go out there because it is so remote-that's half the appeal. There's plenty of places where people actually do get around on sled dogs, or on a quad or skidoo. Hell, Old Crow doesn't have more then a handful of cars for the entire village.

Personally, I could never live there. It takes a special kind of weird, that's for sure.

I don't think I could cope with the extended night-timiness...
I get depressed enough with normal amounts of dark.

It gets balanced out quite nicely with 20-hour days during the summer, however.

And you have to go REAL far north to get the full 24-hour day or night. Only those places right on the tip of the mainland or the ones way out in the islands get that.

That thread explains so much. Especially the walrus hoedown. It all makes sense. >.>

Also, I recognize the town and some of the clothes they're wearing. Mainly because I sold them to them....
