Ok I finally did
I had my first drink.
Not that bad.
I mixed it upmyself and i only drank enough to get a little buzzed. I feel differentish but not really different.
So what broke my alcohol cherry?
Vanella Ice Cream, Dark chocolate syrup, and a few splashes of Kaluah.
Not bad, i made extra to freeze and make a little sunday later.

Ooh, yummy! At least you didn't have such a sucky outcome with mixing your own drinks like I did. I was 20 and it was New Year's Eve 2004 going on to 2005, me and SO were at a friend's house for a NYE party and one of our friends, K is a bartender and mixed me up a few drinks for me. After I saw her mixing some drinks, I thought hmm maybe I could give it a whirl and make my own concoction. I took a bunch of apple pucker and mixed it with Sprite or Mountain Dew and that stuff had me so nauseated it wasn't even funny (I didn't ). I ate some honey and crackers and washed it down with a tall glass of water to take away the nausea when I got home. Lesson learned: leave the drink mixing to the pros.

That's not alcohol! But it is damned tasty. See, there's a lot of sugary sweet stuff in Kaluha (but it makes the best damned chocolate milk!) so you can't even taste the alcohol. But this is also why you use a shot per glass of milk (brown cow).
A real drink is a martini or kamikaze. The latter being my poison of choice. hey, vodka has no flavour so you can add it to damned near anything.
You know what you might like? Have a friend (or yourself if you're old enough) go to the liquer store and buy a bottle of Irish Cream, poor some into a blender with ice and blend it up! Now THAT is a good (alcoholic) icee.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend vodka drinks until you've logged some alcohol experience and know your limits. Because it's flavorless (well, unless you get the really cheap stuff that's a step above lighter fluid *shudder*) you could get really really drunk without meaning to. And, to me, vodka hangovers are the worst kind.
Now, my liquor of choice is whiskey. Wouldn't really recommend that to a first-timer either (some people have bad, bad reactions).
Rum is a good choice. Vanilla rum with Coke, for example, is sweet and tasty but you can taste the alcohol. Which is good, because vanilla rum is really tasty. (An ex-roomie was a rum fanatic, she put it in everything.)

My first drink was vanilla vodka with cranberry juice and a splash of lemon.
It tastes like cheesecake. Seriously. Still one of my faves.

Should I feel bad? Vodka was my first and I was hooked to it ever since. Mostly because you CAN'T taste it is why I like it. It's so easy to mix with other things.
Wanna know how to make the cheap vodka good? Filter it with a brita filter 8-11 times. The more you filter it, the more impurities (that crap that makes it burn) get taken out and the smoother the drink is. Tried and true technique, I do it once every few months.

Cheesecake? Really?
....I need to hit the store on my way home then. I drank the last of the cranberry juice.

Quoted for truth!
My first drinking night, I had a jack and coke.. and it was tasty and I wanted another. Thought to myself, I won't bother anyone to mix it for me, it seems simple enough.
Mixed it half and half. Oog. I was so hung over. I can't stand the taste of jack and coke now either.
I have since then learned my Buzzed [--------] Drunk meter and know when to stop to prevent feeling horrible, yet still enjoy being buzzed. Having a higher tolerance now helps too.

I've never been drunk. I was buzzed off Mikes Hard Lemonade once. Nasty shit but for some reason I kept drinking it. So... I can hold my hard liquer but not he bitch beers.
I figure it's a good time to stop drinking once I'm buzzed.
