What I wanted to ask somebody today

I work in the reservations department for a major resort, which is year-round though it's known best for skiing. We get all sorts of events, including weddings. I get lots of calls from people wanting to reserve rooms for this wedding or that one.

My unasked question of the day: why are you, sir, reserving an expensive hotel room for a wedding when you don't know the last names of either the bride or groom?

(He found the names eventually. But really!)

Could he have been a wedding planner or an assistant to a wedding planner?

In which case, it's odd that he doesn't have the file in front of him when calling.

It's also possible that the wedding is for some long distance friend of his significant other. In which case, he might have a hard time remembering the names.

Yeah, this sounded like a better question before I posted it.

It still seems a bit weird, though.

Actually, I think it's *perfectly* suited to this section. Why would someone try to make a reservation centering someone else's name without at least having that person's name written somewhere near by? *shakes head*
