This one, I can't recount all of it. All I can give you is the bits that I've pieced together today, and some that I suspect. I'll let you know what's what.
Fact:
Today, while my chair (yeah, they finally returned it for full price) was being returned, I see a wal-mart CSM being escorted into the office. She is obviously in pain, bleeding, and limping. She's leaning on another employee rather seriously and tears stream from her eyes.
Not long after this, several people from the store, a few CSM's I know of by face, and a few people from the tire and lube (I suspect her husband being one) come into the office. At this time, some of the CSM's grab paper and alcohol and head back out into the store.
Not long after this, K comes to confirm my return and then turns. K is a manager. He has no clue what's going on, and is only informed by me. Agreeing that something bad is going down, I hear a call across their walkie talkies. I don't know the code, but I know that K blanches. "oh my god." he whispers and heads out quickly.
Speculation follows:
Later, talking with a few CSM's, I get varying stories. Some seem more plausible than others, but as a rule, I don't pay them any attention. However, when added together, the stories themselves make for a likely scenario. (taking what's plausible out and filling in the gaps.)
I'm speculating, from what I saw, and from what I heard that the following happened:
A customer experienced a difficulty at the store. This difficulty could have been anything, but given a CSM is involved, money is most likely the source. In all likelyhood, a customer was denied a purchase or check was not accepted, and the CSM had to be called.
Once getting there, customer is belligerint with staff and CSM. CSM again denies what customer wants. CSM calls management, Management stands behind CSM.
Here's where things REALLY get blurry.
Customer leaves. For how long I'm not sure. Could be an hour, could be a few moments. CSM heads to the bathroom. Customer either finds them there or follows them. Customer takes frustrations out on the CSM. CSM is beaten, losing a few teeth and then kicked. Customer bolts out the front of the store.
The CSM didn't get found right away. It may have been a few minutes, with her unconscious in the bathroom at the time. Also, it's possible they were robbed, but that's also speculation. What is certain, is that the CSM later told police that she was 100% positive that it was the customer from before. They have given a relatively good description.
I wish I could tell you more. I'll see what our local paper says about it next tuesday and see if I can update then.
