Christmas gift choices.....
Hi all! I hope to get some honest input here -- my son is 13 and wants both Rock Band and Guitar Hero for Christmas -- obviously, he's only getting one of them but...... which do I get? Which has better music? (he likes green day and yellow card, I like everything) He has a WII, xbox, ps2.. and is getting an xbox360 from uncle for Christmas --- soooooooo which game and for which system? I"m leaning towards the WII because it's where I can play it ;-)
Thanks!

Rock Band is far more versatile than Guitar Hero. It's basically Guitar Hero plus drums plus bass plus singing. It's better for bigger groups, and I personally prefer the music in it over that in Guitar Hero, but that's subjective.

Rock Band for Xbox360.
You can buy music packs which gives more music, (the Oasis pack is great IMO, and there's lots of them) you can have 4 people playing at once. 2 Guitars, drums, and vocal.
I haven't figured out how it works w/ the Wii sysytem, but its fairly new, where as the Xbox360 has had it out for over a year so the bugs have been worked out.
Also with the music taste your son has Rock Band caters more to it. Guitar Hero is mainly metal, and you're limited to just the music it comes with or getting yet another Gitaur Hero game. I think there's 5 out now if you include the 80's one and Aerosmith's one. Don't quote me on that.
The game play on both is pretty much the same, but you get the chance for more kids to play the Rock Band at once, and more versatility with Rock Band.

I must admit, I prefer Rock Band myself. If only because you can do so much more with it then with Guitar Hero.

I love Guitar Hero. It's freaking awesome. But I've heard so much about Rock Band it sounds ridiculously good too. Especially if you can have more than two people going at the same time.

That kid has more game systems than I do. I'm jealous.
No fair! I'm only getting A book for Christmas! And it's one one how to stay debt-free (Uhm, Mom, I don't have debt).

While the newest Guitar Hero will have the drums and mic too and all that jazz, I'd go with Rock Band for the XB360 like everyone else is saying, purely for the tons and tons of downloadable extra song packs you can get on Xbox Live.

I have to go with Guitar Hero only because of the new things (vocals/drums) and I can sing most of them. Errr...that's why we're saving up for ours.
