I have finally done it... I have willed the hotel equipment to submit to my will. I'm bored staring at the phone, I see the answer light come on, which normally happens about 5 seconds before the phone starts ringing... I thought "no, I don't want to deal with this, please don't actually ring through" and the light just peacefully dimmed out without the phone ringing... that's right, I willed the phone not to ring and the call ended up dropping. I am proud of myself.
