Default A Christmas Miracle

Ya'll barely know me, but I have to share what happened to my family last night. First, a little backstory.

My hubby got his degree in May and took a job with the state in which we live, as a Forester. He worked hard and everyone loved him at his job, but due to budget cuts, he was laid off last week. We are behind in our bills as it is, so it was not looking good for Christmas. We were of course able to get some things for our kids, though not nearly as much in past years. It has been tight, to say the least.

We open our gifts on Christmas Eve, and last night we were just finishing up when I heard something bang against the front door, and saw shadows of people moving out there. We went to the door and found 3 bicycles, and 3 huge "Santa Sacks". They were full of toys and clothes! I was flabbergasted.

We have no idea who did this wonderful thing, but I felt this sort of human kindness and generosity deserved recognition. My daughter is convinced Santa came twice last night, and they got a much happier holiday because of this random act of kindness. May the person or persons who did this be blessed to the end of days.

Humans don't always suck, go figure. Thank you, whoever you are. You are an angel.

That's wonderful. We deal with the sucky people so much we sometimes forget there are good people in the world!

You may never know who that was, but I'm sure they know it was appreciated. See? I told you Santa still exists. I'm glad you had a good Christmas!

Thank you! It really warmed my heart.

Oh, I almost forgot, I laughed so hard when I discovered some of the clothes in my daughter's bag. She's 4. They gave her ...

pink camo pants. I thought of CS and went "wait, our area code isn't 867!"

Megg, your story has brought me to tears. I'm so happy your family got such a lovely gift. And I wish the best to your husband in his job search. Perhaps having had a government job will help him find another one. Take good care.

Wonderful news! It's stories like this, in amongst all the crap we see on a daily basis, that lifts my heart up.

I'm glad that there are still people out there doing things for those in need.

I think 4 is the cutoff for actually wearing pink camo pants.
