Default Teatime!!

...and other tales.

so, after a horrendous day at work, EQ came and rescued me! (read: came to pick me up for a planned outing...)

I took her to Teavana, and introduced her to that wonderful little slice of heaven. And I proceeded to "restock" my tea collection, as was running perilously low. (Less than 20 varieties! Oh noooeeess!!)

and then we perused the mall, <shudder> for the sole purpose of hitting two stores. Torrid (for moi, ladies of an, ahem, certain size), where EQ proceeded to play live action Barbie with me. ("try this" "This is a good color" "Oh, shiney, try it try it try it!" "shop for shoes later, Lupo, try this dress on NOW!" etc, etc) I came away with a dress a couple of shirts a great pair of shoes, some socks and a snake necklace. Thank gods for BOGO free all clearance merchandise. I got a fair amount of stuff...for about 1/3 of the original price.

And then we slipped next door to Hot Topic. Where I got to return the favor of playing Barbie for EQ ("Oh, look, EQ, it's skulls and guns!" Pretty hoodie, try it on!" "And this mini skirt" "And this corset" "Ooooh, more skulls and guns. Into the dressing room with you!" etc, etc, etc...) and SHE came away with a t-shirt, hoodie and pretty dress. Also on sale.

And then dinner at a quaint little Italian cafe. Pleasant way to end a hellacious day, so much thanks to EQ for that!! And tomorrow we go bike shopping!! Or at least to a bike shop that is having a sale, the one I posted about in my other thread. With any luck, I'll be posting pics of my new bike this weekend. Cross your fingers.

And now....I go figure out how to store my teas. I need to find some cheap tins, that maybe I can decorate into my own tea tins, since I bought a few (Nowhere NEAR enough, however) and they were quite pricey. I found an e-how online, the trick is to getting what I needs for creating my own and actually doing so.

...

Oh, EEEEEEEEQQQQQQQQQQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the mourning over less than 20 varieties. I don't own that many, but I'd love to see the look on my roommate's face if I did. A house full of tea.. *glows at the mere thought*

I'd love to know how you make your own tea tins, since I've just gotten into loose teas.

I <3 herbal teas. No caffeine for me.

I purchased two types of teas while at Teavana; The MateVana Herbal Tea (A Tea made for coffee lovers such as myself -- I made a cup this evening, it's soooo good!) and I also purchased a small bag of Swiss Vervaine Melange Herbal Tea for RetailWorkhorse since he loves teas and needs something for relaxing. It smelled like a warm summer day (with fruit!) so I got him that one since the one I wanted to get for him (Au Lait Verde Green Tea) was sold out. fooey.

I told him I'd order it online for him though.

And share that how-to tea tin link! I can't find it!

I love Teavana!!! Best tea I ever had. Nearest one is at Baybrook mall though and that's a 30 minute drive for me so I don't go often...

Oh shiney!!!!

My black fedora. And I'll dress up all nice and Mafia-ish.

EDIT: Wait, does this mean we have to switch Rozen Maiden costumes? Or did you get your hands on a top hat?

I can't have caffeine, either! I drink herbal tea, rooibos red, and white on occasion. (white has caffeine but we're talking minuscule amounts, less than decaf coffee!)

As for the tea tins, it's relatively simple. find some cheapy tins at a craft store, some nice paper, and some paste-like substance called Mod Podge. apparently you decorate in themes you like, and voila! My only concern is to make sure the tins are actually MADE of tin, because some of the other, amalgamated metals tend to rust and corrupt the teas when stored too long. But if stored correctly in good containers, loose tea can last up to a year!

...I cut and pasted the instructions to a word doc...how's about I just print it and show it to you when we're out later today...?

1. If I'd known that, I would've invited you to join us! We were at the Galleria, horrors of horrors! (The things I do for tea...lol)

2. You laugh...but I believe that was a comment actually made in the flurry of clothing huntin--er---shopping...

Oi vey...

eh, I'm inclined to forgive you, since I'm currently brewing up a cup of one of my new teas and it smells divine. It puts me in a happy mood!

Y'know, I'd post a list of all the new teas I got, but, I don't feel like writing them all and linking them right now. Seven varieties, all of which are delicious and exquisite. Om nom nom.
