A school counselor drove up to the Visitor parking booth window to park. Here is what happened.
Me: "Hi, how may I help you?"
school counselor: "I hope you can help me. I have been driving around in circles trying to find a place to park. I am a school counselor, & I am here to drop off some student transcripts."
me: "Yeah...but...no matter where you park around here it is all pay parking. I am sorry, but there is no free parking."
She sees the 2 signs that read Vistior parking is $5.00.
school counselor: "So if I park here, I have to pay $5.00?!"
me: "Correct"
school counselor: "But I will only be here for 10 minutes!!"
me *I shrug my shoulders with my arms up & open*: "I'm sorry, but it is all pay parking around here. There is no free parking around here."
school counselor: "So where do I park at?"
I direct her to the metered lot.
Seriously, you work for a school, & you want me to bend the rules just for you. Sorry, but you are not that special.
