Default Clear glass Christmas ornaments

I know. It's June. Why am I talking about Christmas? Well, I'm a crafter and I'm already starting to sign up for shows in October-December, which will largely be Christmas-centric. As such, I need to start thinking about holiday items that I can offer during those shows and Christmas ornaments sprang immediately to mind. I wanted to do some last year, but I never got around to it, so I want to start early this year, since I have a couple of months off now with no shows.

So I need some clear glass bulb ornaments. I know the local craft stores carried them at Christmas time last year, but I never picked any up and of course now they're gone, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I can get them for a good deal this time of year. They need to be glass, not plastic, and heat resistant to about 300 degrees F (I will be covering them with polymer clay and baking them.) I've already done a google search and found a few places online that look like good deals, I'm just wondering if anyone has any personal experience getting Christmas stuff in the middle of summer.

Well, I know Hobby Lobby carries Christmas stuff year round. Have you tried there?

I did not know that! Thanks Kink. I normally don't shop at Hobby Lobby since there's another craft store closer that has a better selection of the things I normally buy, but I will definitely go check the nearest one out in a couple of days.

You might try www.bronners.com - it is a huge Christmas store located in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Roughly what size are you looking at? One possibility might be (clear) light bulbs - there are quite a few sizes of low-voltage bulbs, and even spherical 120V bulbs in candelabra base. Remove the metal base, take out the "guts", and you've got the glass shell for an ornament.

this seems like a pretty decent price for bulk-144 for under $30.

Oriental Trading Company is one of my favorite go-to sites for ordering craft supplies. These appear to be the only glass ornaments they currently carry that aren't part of a craft kit.

Also, a general Google Shopping search turned up some more potential results.

Thanks guys. I picked up a small pack at Hobby Lobby for now, I want to experiment with them before I buy a whole bunch in bulk before knowing exactly what I want to do with them. So many ideas, so little time...
