Default I'm not going the extra mile for this EW

bg: there are copiers in our offices and copiers for the public. Our copiers are maintained by IT, the public copiers are maintained by the lowest bidding contractor. The contractor sends someone to service the copiers, including adding their paper and their toner, etc. /bg

Sat. was busy at the library. I'm waiting to be relieved (I was by myself for an hour too) but of course the 2 reliefs are fucking late.

So twit customer comes up to me to tell me that she is going to make copies on the ledger size paper but we don't have enough. Normally I would point out that we don't want people to open the drawers of the copiers, since they are not ours, but since we all know the average customer doesn't like to be told what to do, I don't say anything. So I go to our telephone room to look for supplies, since the copier people leave paper for us to refill the machines with if the copiers got low before they come by.

No ledger paper.

By now a cw came to relieve me and she told me to look for the paper in our office.

Fuck, I hate going the extra mile for customers. This is our paper. Even though 1/2 a pack is left by our copier, we (or the office managers) have to be accountable. The other day I had to ask for a pen from an office manager and she asked me what I need the pen for. Um, to stick it up my ass? What else I needa fucking pen in this office for, this is a fucking library where we use pens, I'm not asking for fucking stationary. So see, supplies are being counted.

So I go upstairs and get ahold of the ledger paper and hid it. I'll bring it back sometime this week; let someone ask for ledger paper and get the office manager to ask, "what for?"

So I'm late relieving someone who had to go to lunch, but since my relief didn't want to get involved with this, I go to the woman and told her we had no ledger paper.

Ew: but last time they got the paper from that office!
Me: sorry, there is no paper in the office. I will call the copier people and either today or Mon. they will stock the copier.
ew: blargh blargh blargh.

Wow, last time we used our own paper for the cunt. This is going the extra mile for a person, which makes and ew. No one learns at the library.

I tell a cw. Then 30 min latter cw calls and asked if I found ledger paper. I explained that I didn not, so she asked if the copier people were coming. I told her when I called the call center said if the tech had paper with him he will come by today, if not, then Mon. and I added, "I told her this already."

Also what pissed me off was how she was making copies. What ever she was making copies of (the ew showed me one thing she copied, because I think she wanted me to know what ledger-size was) only took 1/2 the page. She left the glass open, so it copied a bunch of black. That meant she used a lot of toner; she probably will complain that the copies are getting too light, we have to change the toner.

I wouldn't condone hiding the paper like you did.

But I'm thinking new fees on copying to cover the costs of creatures like her would be wise.

I don't see this woman often, but she comes in every Sat. She whines to my cws that she has problems with the machines, but she comes in every Sat. so it's not like the problems are new. They're not problems, really, just that she is impatient and doesn't like how many steps she has to take.

Maybe let her borrow the manual for the copier, hand it to her and say, "Here ya go!" Let her know you are there at the library to ASSIST patrons, but you're not there as personal servants. I think she just needs to hear it in order for her to realize it.
