What do you do with the piss you take?
Scary question, mostly because of the answer.
We had a return to our quality control team of a couple of haircare products. A private buying group had purchased them and said she'd only just got around to using them and she wanted crediting on them and a specific chocolate product as recompense.
Okay. Let's have a look. On a whim I checked her account. It's Feb 2012, right? Her one and only purchase was ... August 2010. Seventeen months ago. It was also dramatically below minimum. It's on an invoice so old the number has been re-used, and we have a a hundred thousand invoices to use before it rolls over.
I'm leaving notes and letting tomorrow's person send her a polite letter along the lines of 'piss off'.

Given what shows up on this site at times, I was a little worried about your title, LOL.
"Only just got around to buying them" and the receipt number has been re-used? Would be interesting to find out how she thought she could get away with that.

You reuse invoice numbers? That doesn't sound like that good of an idea...

Takes us fifteen months or so, at our current rate, and our notification of damaged etc goods is stated as a week. We let the latter slide more often than not, and I've seen two months in times gone past, but seventeen?
The stuff's archived electronically, but it's archived so we have to ask IT to dig it out.

Haircare products & the like actually carry "expiry dates" nowadays too, or at least suggested time scales between purchase & disposal. Sounds like someone just bought too much stuff & forgot about these until now!

Unbelievable. Without wishing to hijack your thread, Rapscallion, I had a customer call me up wanting a free replacement part. He ordered his tap six years ago. Only four years out of warranty!
