Default It's not that hard

At my job we have a seperate entrance and exit which are seperated by about 6 feet, being that we check receipts upon exiting the store, there is a rigid rule about people using the door (yeah, its kinda silly, but they do watch us)...you would not believe how hard a concept this is for most people to grasp, we get into 90% of our problems because of this. Returns especially need to come in the entrance because they are stamped there. For example..

Me: Maam, you just have to use the entrance to come in
SC: WHAT? (she was on the phone, maybe if she wasn't she wouldn't have a hard time hearing)
Me: You just have to use the entrance to enter the building
SC: But I have a return
Me: Returns especially need to go thru the other door, the need to be marked
SC: But I don't WANT to use the other door
Me: Please use the other door (as she is trying to barge in, I have to step in her way and point her to the other door)

what I wanted to say was: Yeah, well I don't WANT to stand here for 8 hours a day and take peoples crap all day...but here I am!

Alot of people complain about having to walk ALL the way to the other door, it's 6 feet!! BETTER STRETCH OUT FIRST!!!!

We've been called every name in the book, and one of our guys was once put in a headlock...all because the customer was asked to use another door!!

I can't even say anything about that. It's just too jaw-dropping for words.

Whenever an employee of a store asks me to do something, politely, I DO IT. I don't know where the hell these people get off on arguing. Do you think we actually care ourselves what damn door you use?

Today was another amazing day, my friend, who works opposite the exit with me normally, got called a 'man-hating dyke' today for asking a guy to go thru the entrance..I just find it unbelievable that people think we are enforcing out own personal rules..not just doing our jobs. Most of the guys just block the door and point without even saying a word, which I originally found kind of rude at first, but, they seem to get in less arguments..I just don't get it

Wow. [D&D] It's not much more than a 5-foot step. You can still get a standard action in, like opening the door! Speaking is a free action, though.[/D&D]

I the doors are automatic and your DM rounds to even increments it takes no actions at all. Don't your customers read the PHB?

Oh god, I know that one. Do they seriously think if we're telling them that yes, this is EVERYTHING under their name (first, last, middle, hubby's) in the photofinishing bins that we're just acting like we are looking so we can cause an inconvienence in their life? Especially where I'm showing her that the computer system has no record of anything else being brought in?

We low-paid lazy peons just get ALL our enjoyment in life from causing the customers "trouble" for no good reason at all. riiiiiiiiiight
