Oh snap, now you have me looking up stuff at my old places.
The apartment complex we were run out of (not the Domicile, amusedly) had someone, right at the same end of us....killed his wife, beat up the grandparents, and then kidnapped his daughter and took off.
...wow, I'm glad we got out of there.

When my husband and I were engaged we were listening to the police scanner in his aunts truck going to my parents house to get something and heard a screwdriver stabbing reported at the apartments we just signed a lease on, and about 3 months before we moved out there was a homicide. We were relieved to find that it wasn't a random crime, but we couldn't wait to get the heck out.

i dunno seraph, after the epic story... might be interesting to see what you can find for *that* place too.
unless of course that *is* the place you're talking about.

I just checked my residence on SpotCrime.
4 shootings and 2 robberies in the last month within a half-mile radius.
So glad I'm moving at the end of June.

Only two thefts and a robbery on my street, and even near my section of the area was reported.
However...
Car vandalism just happened two days ago. And a car was stolen 6 months ago. Thats not reported

All of a sudden I have a picture in my head of that crack in the wall from Dr Who.

That's kind of what we're referencing.

When you're using SpotCrime, remember to look at the dates on the incidents. I looked at two neighbourhoods (one I lived in and one I wanted to move to) and they had about the same number of incident icons per unit area on the map. But in one area the dates on the incidents went back several months, and on the other they all seemed to be within one month. You can't see the number of crimes per unit time just by looking at the icons on the map. It was somewhat misleading.
