Also a nice way to help those who need wigs for medical reasons, rather than just to look pretty. But would also be great for people like me who freak out at the sight of hair clippers. (I seriously cannot look at hair clippers without freaking out)

I've done it a couple of times myself - maybe 10 inches the first time, and over a foot the second. It's getting long enough to do it again, but I want my hair for a while first. Tho if I go short again, yeah might as well donate it .

Oh of the ladies that worked as the office manager for my family's car shop years ago had pure white hair (she was in her 50's and had had white hair since her 20's). She would donate it to groups that would make wigs for cancer patients. They could then dye it any color.
