  • Sorry, this grosses me out. And the poor child!!

I went to the bathroom at work today. As I walk in, the stench just about floors me. There is a *lady* in one stall clearly making the horrendous stench. Another *lady* is standing outside the stall with her baby - no older than 2 months, VERY tiny! They are talking, so are clearly together.

Now first of all, I wouldn't and didn't bring my very new baby out to shop (at night, no less! this was about 8pm). Nor would I haul it into a public bathroom. Especially just so I could continue talking to the one who was making a "number two" that is god-awful smelling. Can you imagine the germs that are floating around?

But here's the kicker. When these *ladies* left the bathroom, neither one of them WASHED their hands!!!!!!!!!! Now, okay I can see that the one with the baby didn't need to wash her hands, per se, but ugh! It became clear later on that babymomma was the daughter of stinkyone - and stinkyone took the baby from babymana so that babymama could do some shopping.

How the heck in all that is holy do you NOT wash your hands after using the bathroom before you pick up your very new grandchild???????

It's because of disgusting idiots like the ones in the OP that I detest touching any surface in a bathroom. I wish more bathrooms were germophobe friendly and made it so everything was hands-free.

The poopy stink I can deal with actually. Cos ... well, it IS a toilet after all.

but not washing hands free of such mess? Yeah that's how you get gastro infections. or nastier things too.

Some people just think that their bodily fluids are somehow special and that 'they' couldn't POSSIBLY have germs because they're so clean!

Well I can't deal with that stink. And I will never understand why the hell anyone wants to have a conversation while doing that. It's not a group activity.

Heck, I am sometimes self-conscious of making a bowel movement when I'm not alone in my house, much less if someone is sharing the same public restroom. The smell sometimes takes a half hour before it's gone, even with the fan on.

And not washing my hands after using the toilet is just a foreign concept to me. It's not only for my own benefit, but for everyone else's benefit as well. Even if I feel like I did my business as cleanly as possible, it's just a good idea to wash your hands simply because the sink is right there and it's healthy to just wash your hands from time to time during the day from touching whatever else you put your hands on prior to using the facilities.

Plus, if you're at work, it's 30 extra seconds you're not working, so it's win-win!
Fiancee: We're going to need to do laundry. I'm out of clean pants.
Me: Sounds like a job for Gravekeeper!
              Fiancee: What?!
              Me: Nevermind.

Did she bother to flush the toliet?

Maybe she's one of those people who doesn't want to get germs from the faucets

got a better question: did she wipe? Because if not, she hasn't got anything on her hands to wash off...

(other than whatever she picked up from the flush handle, unless she didn't do that either)

This reminds me of a Far Side cartoon where a guy is coming out from a restaurant bathroom, right into the dining area where a big flashing sign reads "DIDN'T WASH HANDS!!!".

She's probably one of those people who whines about the soap being harsh. Now, I don't mean people with actual sensitivity or allergies, who can have bad reactions. I mean the ones who whine about OMG that soap is so drrryyyyyiiing. That's what they make hand lotion for. Better a little dry skin than spreading germs all over. I've even seen people gripe that the soap is too harsh and then they use anti-bac gel instead! Alcohol will dry your skin out even more than soap!
