I'm not sure how common they are elsewhere, but I get dollar coins all the time out of the change machine at work. They are gold Sackajewea (sp?) coins, and then after that, they started having the presidents (in order) on them as well.
I try to never use them outside of work, though. But, the only cash I ever usually have on me is for lunch at work in the vending machines, or for fast food treats on my days off. The only change we get at work are those damned gold dollars.You really need to see a neurologist. - WagegothComment
