You'd be surprised at the number of people out there who think that if it's on the Internet, then it must be true.

I love that TV ad for some insurance company.
Guy is using some ap on his phone to do a car insurance claim or something like that. Girl comes out of the apartment building and asks, what he's doing, and he tells her. Goes sort of like this -

Girl - "I didn't think XXX Insurance Co had those aps"
Guy - "Where did you hear that?"
Girl - "on the Internet. They can't put anything on the internet that isn't true"
Guy - "Where did you hear that?"
Girl - "On the Internet"

Then it shows her date she met on the internet showing up, he's a "French Model" according to the internet - large, geeky & obviously can't speak French

I'm used to people seeing the right information and the wrong information (ie, they know the business is on X street not Y street) they will go with the wrong information-just in case it's right!

People call the library, saying they are looking at the White Pages/Yellow Pages and don't see the ph. number for X. So being a smart-alec I look in the same phone book they are seeing and when I see the number I tell them. They say they don't see the number. I give the page and column number it appears on. They still don's see it. I give them the number anyway.

"Well, it was close, but that's not the number that's in phone book."

Just noticed on rereading since the thread came up again. The SC knew that the number Skull was going to give him would be different from the phone book's. He'd called that number, and knew it wasn't the department he wanted, so by default whatever number SB gave him would be different.

Crud; now I gotta sit here and send the SC extra bad karma and it's gonna be a month and a half late.

Google still lists the grocery store near us that closed. 3 years ago.

And yes, that happened to me too. I was trying to find a small grocery store that carried Asian foods once. The closest place turned out to have been closed for at least a year.
