I'm just surprised AssHat didn't see that one coming.

And if Samuel Jackson... then he'd also be throwing some MFing snakes at the MFing AssHat too.

Untrue. Because they still have the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, and they still have Cedar Point in Sandusky. Two awesome places to visit.

But of course now I know why no bartender there ever bought me a drink.

Illegal or not, I have gotten comped drinks in Ohio. We helped a bartender repair a door that had a panel fall out of it. We each got a glass of Tully for our troubles. It pays to be a regular

Also, if the bar is scummy enough (and on the OSU campus), they'll make flaming drinks for you. It got much more amusing when the bartender hit the cup with the flaming shot, spilling it and then dropped the flaming shot on the bar, setting it on fire. At that point my friend and I finished our pitcher and got the hell out of there.

I don't know that it's illegal at bars, but it is illegal at casinos. Never having bartended, I can't speak for their rules.

IIRC when the bill for approving the casinos in Ohio was being argued the whole reason for proposing no comped drinks was because that practice was already illegal in bars. Seemed like a fairly logical decision. I don't know why its illegal though. Just like bars Casinos also got put in under the no alcohol sales after 2:30 am too.

EDIT: Ok the language of the act is to not allow any practice that "promotes excessive drinking"
