... to all those customers who couldn't find what they wanted at our store and yet didn't turn into an SC because of it. Or who had to stand in line to pay because management in its wisdom left us with our normal ONE scale and ONE cash register during the Christmas blitz ... and didn't gripe and whine about it.
Even the one woman who got overlooked and went, "Hey ... hey! Anybody gonna help me??" calmed down (as far as I could tell) and went about ordering in a normal tone of voice once she was attended to. And yes, I believe she was in fact overlooked in the rush, so she did have reason to be less than happy -- she was one of those who'd been standing there for several minutes while staff dealt with other customers. There's no nice organized line these days; it's just a mad crush of milling customers and sometimes it's hard to know who's been served and who hasn't.
