Christmas Eve shift: no ruined Christmases.

However, there was this gem from the day:

After I had finished, and was sitting down enjoying a beer and catching up on facebook, the bartender who relieved me comes over and says quietly to me, "You would think that since it's Christmas and all, people would be a little nicer."

To which I simply looked at her, laughed, and said, "Yeah, right!"

"The Customer Is Always Right...But The Bartender Decides Who Is
    Still A Customer."

Aww, isn't that sweet ... the bartender still believes in the Spirit of Christmas ...

Actually, I shouldn't be so snarky. Don't know what Christmas Eve was like at my store (because I wasn't there, LOL) but on Sunday we had a jammed-full store and generally very nice, very patient customers. Frankly I'd like to write a letter to the editor but I'm not sure corporate allows that sort of thing ...

Who in the hell gambles away ALL their money to be used on Christmas presents, and only days BEFORE Christmas , and then tends to blame the casino employees? Your presents should have been bought a long time ago. Don't walk into a casino and DEMAND the right to win money. You might as well scream your demands to a gas-station employee while blowing off your cash on lottery tickets that you BETTER get a $5 million winning ticket. Idiot people!

IF you can't afford to lose it, you can't afford to be there. If only people would heed that advice.

Actually, I believe someone in here actually had a rather intelligent answer to that particular question.

Ah! So THAT'S the secret to winning at gambling. Just tell the dealer to give me good cards! Wow, wonder why no one else has thought of that before?

Woman was at the blackjack table and when I got there, she informed me that I had better give her good cards, because she was going to buy Christmas presents with her winnings.
                  A couple appropriate answers:

"All our cards are good - some for the player, some for the house."

"All our cards are good. They are replaced after X hours in play, or if one card in the deck is damaged, whichever comes first."
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

"I AM giving you good cards. You're just playing them wrong."
Now, I'd like to digress from my prepared remarks to discuss how I invented the terlet...
