  • Book Help?

My Google-fu has failed massively, and while I can get an answer tomorrow/later today when my folks are up, I'm frustrated that I can't find it right now.

I'm trying to remember the title of a really, really old children's book. Like published at least in the 1950's children's book (can't remember if it was just my mom and her sisters' book series or if it was her parents' before that). So it's got that soft cloth-like binding cover.

The story itself was about a tribe of people who always had to use the RIGHT word. In fact the story starts with the king kicking the prince out for ordering a coronet when he was supposed to get a crown. The prince is supposed to discover two words that mean EXACTLY the same thing, otherwise he'll be permanently exiled and have to go live with the opposing, chaotic tribe. The rest of the book is giving examples of things that are close in definition but not quite the same (like a boat, a ship, and a liner).

    Any ideas?

    Hah! Remembered it.

It's called The Chatterlings if anybody's interested.
