  • Bad Luck For A Banged Up Lupo :(

I want to preface this by saying I'm ok, but I was in a car accident this morning. I've totaled the car. Brakes failed while I was coming down a hill and I rearended another vehicle.

I'm stiff and sore, but no head trauma, and I'm going to turn interesting colors the next few days.

We can't afford a car right now, as xx_wolfie_xx only just went back to work after being on holiday/hiatus for about a month, so yeah.

Anyone in the San Antonio,TX area that might have ideas or thoughts, I'm open to them. Right now, I'm curled up on the couch, with ice packs and aspercreme, and I've called off work for the next two days. I have a neighbor here with first aid training who's been keeping an eye on me, making sure there aren't any delayed reactions.

xx_wolfie_xx is coming home, for a day or two, then back into the field.

We're mostly stuck on the whole "can't afford a car" aspect right now.

I'm starting to show colorful bruising all over the place, and the soreness is really starting to set in, to the point that it's hurting to sit, stand, move or stay still. I'm scared and upset, because I totaled the car. I know i can get a bus pass, but wolfie's work is such that he needs a vehicle at a moment's notice, for when he has to go out of town, and needs to be dropped off at the shop. It's crazy. It's not been a good day, and I've been crying off and on. I don't know what we're going to do. We're pretty much broke right now, because the contract work wolfie's company does didn't start until just a week ago, he's been out of work since before Christmas, and our savings was used up paying rent and bills for February.

So there's the update. Love y'all, just keep us in your thoughts and prayers that we can figure something out.

    *gentle hugs*

I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish I could do something to help, but I'm too far away to be of any use.

If you outline the bruises with a sharpie with short cross lines every few inches...

Ow ow ow ow, Lupo, take care of yourself. I hope everything works out for you.

And things like this are why keeping Lupo and Seraph several states away from each other is a good idea.

It was an older vehicle, so we had liability only on it. The other party will be completely taken care of, but otherwise? No, not really.

I'm glad you survived relatively unscathed. Sorry you're having so much trouble though. Wish I could do something to help too, but I'm up in Fort Worth.

Fortunately work provides me with a vehicle to use, unfortunately it has a gps transceiver and am not allowed to use it for personal use.

There's no way Wolfie's boss can make an exception at all, or even work with you? Does the boss know the extent of what happened, and that the car is totaled?

Lupo, I'm sorry you got hurt, and glad it wasn't worse. Gentle and prayers for a speedy and thorough recovery.

We already asked. His bosses are not the most trusting or understanding people on the planet. As it was, he had to fight to come home. His field gig? 3.5 hours away. He was in a city 200 miles away and they're all "Oh, well, if you go home, you have to be back by 7 am tomorrow..."

So, we figured not until the weekend, and then he finally fought with them and they said he could take vacation time, but be back by Monday.

He DID ask about using the truck on a limited basis, IF we put our own gas in. they said nope.

You said you can get a bus pass, I did find this but have no idea how useful it would be, but options are good to have even if not feasible, because they my lead to a brainstorm that will be feasible. I know my previous city had a state vanpool/rideshare program that did pick up and drop off from outlying communities, not sure about SA.

Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

Check and post to freecycle and look on craigslist. I have seen people give away cars on freecycle to someone who really does need one. And I have seen decent little run around cars on craigslist for less than 500.00. It is an idea especially if you have someone who is mechanically inclined and can look at the car for you. So glad that the major damage is to the replaceable and not to you. Lots of tea and rest Miss Lupo.
