    the Rage!

    Rang out an older woman today, maybe 60-ish. Forget what she purchased, but her total came to $6.34. In her hand, she held a 10, a 5, and a 1. She handed me $6 and looked away, all around, in that "if I don't look at you, I don't have to acknowledge you" kinda of way.
    I waited a beat or two and nicely asked "Do you have the change?"
    She surprised me by ripping the $6 out of my hand, literally YANKING so hard she smacked her own hand back on her purse, like she expected me to resist. Then she SLAMMED the 10$ bill into my hand, so hard the back of my hand smashed onto the counter. I pulled my hand back and because I was so shocked, I said "Excuse me?" (Because I couldnt think of a polite way to say "What the Fuck, lady??"
    She had those crazy shaky rage eyes, and said "EXCUSE ME?? I GAVE you SIX DOLLARS!"
    I entered the 10$ as payment, and said "Maam, your total was $6.34..."
    and she started muttering something but I cut her off...
    "Out of $10, your change is $3.66" Handed it to her, with her receipt and a very dirty look, and told her to have a nice day.

    I think she was hoping I wouldnt notice that she'd shorted me .34 and when she didnt get away with it she got pissed.

      Frankly, I think she was a bitch, which is an insult to every female dog I know. Good on you for making her *gasp* talk to you in some form. Bet that ticked her off even more

        It's impossible to test, but, I'm fairly certain that if you turned the tables and deliberately shorted these "close enough" people's paycheck by .34 cents, they'd threaten to have you sued into oblivion..... yet, it's somehow different when they're doing it against Da Man (tm)

          Oh yeah, she definitely was trying not to pay the rest. If she'd just misheard you, she wouldn't have bothered taking the $6 back and giving you the ten. And all that anger over 34 CENTS. What a bitch.

            Yeah, but all that attitude for 34 cents, what a bargain! It usually takes $20 before I'll consider making a fool of myself in front of others.

                        I've never actually seen it, although since it's on Netflix streaming I'm sort of tempted. It's gotta be better than last year's wan remake...right?
