You spit in my food!

This was a first... I was in subway with my mom in this very desolate subway location. The girl was super nice (she was indian--this is important later) and we chatted a bit as she made our food.

My mom and I sit down and are talking when this happens:

This weirdo red necked asshole walked in and ignores the current customer and runs right up to the girl.

SC: I am very angry! Someone spit in my food last week!

Cashier (C) : Do you have a receipt so I can pull the tape? Do you know who it was?

SC: Hell no! I don't know who it was! It could've been you for all I know!

He was getting scary and yelling. There was only her, me, my mom and some random old dude in there. She had no protection.

SC: I demand a manager. It's against the law to deny me one!
(Since when?)

C: I am the manager on duty. I am trying to help you, I just need more details.

I think he was crazy and looking for free food.

SC: You know what? Screw this! (Heads for the door) It's because I'm white!

Never really had a white guy use the race card--that was a first. The cashier took care of the last customer and looked a bit freaked.

Me: That guy was an asshole. I'm glad we were here because I wasn't sure what he was going to do.

C: he's done this before. He called the store threatening to kill me and last time he waited 30 mins for me outside.

Me: You need some pepper spray or a taser... Did you call the cops?

C: Not yet...

I would've called the cops so they can use all his crazy shit against him. I felt so bad for her being alone and with crazy people! We stayed a bit and chatted until her relief showed up.

Also how in the hell would someone spit in your food at subway? They put everything on IN FRONT of you the whole time!!!

What is she waiting for? She needs to contact the police about this guy! Pull the tapes of every time he's come in and threatened her and show those to the police. That should be more than enough evidence to arrest him.

"Good customer service" should not require that you submit to someone who is threatening to kill you. I really don't want to see that poor woman become yet another statistic.

That's so awful, and pretty terrifying. It just goes to show how dangerous retail can actually be. I'm surprised she didn't call the police, although I can also understand why. Working retail can be so shit and degrading. Dealing with all the sucky customers, being treated like you're scum, can make you feel like people just don't give a damn, police included. I could be wrong, but that's how I feel sometimes.
