  • Two interviews and a minor irk

    Hey everyone

I've been called for two interviews in less than a week since I've been out of work. One was for a hotel 15 minutes by bus from me, which would be awesome. I'm excited to explore new possibilities.

The minor irk though is friends and family also in the job market whining how "it isn't FAiiiiRRRR" that they've been looking for months with no nibbles and it took me less than a week to get interviews. They don't want me to actually TELL them what I do that actually works (it has nothing to do with me, it's technique), they just want to whine.

Oh well. Time to go put in more applications.

Excellent! I dislike long commutes. You take for ever to get there, only to be lambasted by customers and managers...no thx. It's better to have a short trip. My hotel is only 15 min away and I love it!!!
Even though I work there, I'm always looking for other jobs. Becuase you never know when you'll be axed. Learned that the hard way. Always be looking for new opportunities, because they're looking for new replacements. May sound cynical but it's true!

I'd love to know your technique. I'm currently job hunting and I've never been very good at it.
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?

Same here. A little advice never hurts.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

There are a million reasons why your family might not be getting interviews. None of them are your fault. Just tell them to keep looking. It doesn't sound like they want any more specific advice.

Actually, I think we'd all be interested in a "job hunting advice" thread. Perhaps in the "Advice - sought and offered" forum.

Personally, I'm looking again. Got a good lead on a no-experience-required job with paid training.

Sorry to the people who have PM'd me, I haven't gotten to answering yet. A bout of depression plus being buys the past few days have taken a toll, but I promise I'll get to it!
