Woke up and saw this in my Twitter feed.

I've been trying to get my health under control and I'm doing a fairly poor job of it. It takes seeing someone I admire and care shooting the shit with the guy holding the scythe to light the fire under my ass.

I know Clerks is sort of a documentary for some of us, so show him some love if you can. Thank his kick ass Doctor for saving his life.

It wasn't a scare - it was a massive heart attack. At least that is what he's been quoted as saying. With all the changes he's made to get healthy it's a complete shock, and I'm so glad his doctor was able to get him through this. Now to hope that he stays stable and doesn't have anymore problems with his heart!

Not really. Getting healthier only postponed it. It will take a long time to undo the damage that was done.

On the plus side, getting healthier will help in speeding up his recovery.

I am hoping that I can postpone mine long enough to undo the damage.

I get that "scare" has a different connotation. In this case I just mean that he survived it and it was the idea that he could have died that is scary.

But I also had a roommate who was an aspiring film maker and counted Kevin Smith among his top influences.
