The other day on TV I saw one of the old "how to be an SC" segments that they trot out from time to time. You know, the ones where they tell you that retailers get bored selling things for the marked price and they want you to haggle.
Me: That's $12.50.
SC1: $12.50? How about $9?
Me: No, $12.50.
SC1: $10?
Me: $12.50.
SC1: Come on, you guys love haggling.
Me: I saw that TV show too. They lied. $12.50.
SC1: Fine then! *pays*
SC2: Since I'm spending so much money, can I have a free chocolate bar?
Me: No.
SC2: How about one of these? (pointing to "Buy 1 get 1 free" display)
Me: If you buy one, sure.
SC2: Just the petrol then.
According to SC2, $15 is a lot of money. His head would probably explode if he saw how much interstate truck drivers spend to fill up their rigs.
