  • SCish reporter confronts chef in kitchen after he yells in front of patrons

    http://consumerist.com/2010/05/what-...estaurant.html

On the one hand the chef should have controlled himself better, but what kind of moron thinks nothing of going back into an employees only area to confront someone?

    i figure...

yes he has a right to complain - but from the OUTSIDE of the kitchen.

once he steps in to the kitchen, he's entering an area that's governed by the health code.

and now... the reporter is just using his job title as retaliation at being kicked out.
sounds a bit like he's not use to people telling him "no" and to me at least he sounds rather arrogant

Totally on the chef's side here, even though he seems to be an ass.

You don't go into an employees only area unless you are an employee. If the reporter was so bothered by the chef's language, he could've told a manager about it instead.

This. There are a lot of reporters who push boundaries a little too far. Yes, it's a job requirement/benefit, but that doesn't change the fact that it can turn them into jerks.

A number of reporters think that The first amendment allows them to Go wherever they like, whenever they like, do whatever they like, and for whatever reason they like, because they're the press. They think that flashing the little press identification is going to make them invincible and legally untouchable.

He's lucky he even got to say anything. If the chef was that angry to begin with and saw a customer in his kitchen, I'm surprised he didn't scream and physically take the guy out of there.

And I still would have been on his side.
