  • Creepy drunk guy (and awesome bartender)

Ok since alcohol can (doesn't always, but why take chances) hurt me bad..I am normally the Designated Driver if I go with friends to a bar or such (very rare for me anyhow). Most places will even give free drinks to the DD, so its win/win. This Wednesday (I have weird days off), my cousin showed up and we went to a local bar. This could go to either Praise, or here because it is both a sighting and awesomeness at the same time.

We got a seat, and my cousin started drinking, I of course started on the non-alcoholic type drinking. Now the bar wasn't too far away, we got really decent seats. We notice a obviously drunk guy sitting at the bar. He couldn't really even keep upright. A lovely lady sits down, and the 'fun' begins. Guy does the 'full court press' to try to impress the lady. She was handling herself pretty good, until he started grabbing.

Awesome bartender walks up takes the guys drinks and says "Since your acting like a child, you have just lost your big boy privileges."

The following conversation happens. I won't do it in a drunken slur for SC, but yes..it was in drunken slur.

AB - Awesome Bartender (Who just happened to be female)
    SC - Drunk creepy guy.

SC - You can't do that, I paid for those.
AB - I can, and just did. You are cut off.
SC - I'm not drunk, you can't cut me off.
    AB - I just did.
SC - Give me back my drink or I'll take them.
AB - *waves over security* That's that. You are out of here.
    SC - Huh?

Security comes over, takes SC by the arms.

SC - Lemme go, I didn't do anything.
AB - Make sure he gets a cab, he is NOT to come back tonight.

Security just shrugs and says "Yes Ma'm." and drags the guy out.

The best part of it had to be the "Since your acting like a child, you have just lost your big boy privileges." though. Had me and my cousin laughing so hard we were crying. Note : The SC had stopped grabbing when his precious drinks (yes plural) were taken. He was getting thrown out anyhow because of the grabbing, but of course that didn't register to his mind.

I didn't do the whining and slurring of this guy justice though . It was epic. I swear boys going through puberty couldn't hit the notes this guy hit.

Aw, come on. The guy at least deserved the 'Al Bundy headslam-into-the-door-frame' move on his way out... :P

Wow. Bartenders and bouncers that actually cut people off or kick them out?

          Amazing.

The last time (and I'm sure it's the last for a LOOOONG time because I lost my temper and almost sent a guy face first into a wall and I was sober!!!) we went out, this guy who I swear wreeked of fresh vomit and was so drunk he was spittling and couldn't even form a complete coherent sentence, hit on me TWICE, not to mention many other girls in the bar. The second time was when I lost it.

He still kept getting served and allowed to be in the bar. My friends and I had advised the bartender that he smelled of puke and hit on all of us and it took some real convincing (this was the first time he did it) to get him to go away. It was shrugged off.

I was cut off once and was, quite possibly, the least drunk I've ever been. It didn't stop the bartender from serving me when everyone else started paying for me.

I've gotten the full court press before too. Its gross.

My wife and her friends got cut off after 4 drinks in a span of 2 hours in an empty bar/restaurant.

They had intended on eating and drinking more but the wait staff consistently ignored them (they had to go the bar themselves after the 1st drink and no one would take a food order).

I showed up to DD everyone home, and found I really wasn't needed. They had been kicked out a while ago and were waiting for me to get there.

              That was a fun day.

I've never been cut-off, but a bunch of biker friends did get cut-off in one pub one Saturday.
(We had a regular Saturday pub crawl, but alternate weeks I had to work, so I missed this one.)
The new barman was completely in the right legally, in that they were pissed, but failed to grasp that they had hollow legs and would be walking home.
(Apart from Fred*, who was a notorious pisshead, but the barmaids would be 'helpful' and offer to let him leave his crash helmet and keys behind the bar, and then refuse to hand them back at the end of the evening, forcing him to get a taxi. Every week.)
Apparently it was really entertaining seeing the manager going "you've refused to serve _who_ ??", and then chasing them down the street, calling "come back!!", as they wandered along the road to the next pub on the intinery.

^ so they were cut off because they were entirely too intoxicated and the manager was pissed?

It sounds like this was a case where they bent the rules because they knew these people wouldn't cause trouble of the sort that the laws were designed to prevent. The manager was upset, because these guys were extremely regular business, of the kind to encourage (the kind that doesn't cause trouble).

Sorry to seem dense here, but what exactly does 'full court press' mean?

In THIS instance it means trying/saying/doing anything and everything to sleep with somebody else. Bragging, bribery, lying, etc.

I thought it would be something along those lines, but had never heard that expression to describe it!

My father comes from the back woods of Kentucky. My mom comes from Florida. I was raised in Ohio.

That isn't even considering Geneology, which makes things a bit more 'colorful' for me. Throw in I try my best to be odd, unusual, strange, weird (etc)..and I use a few phrases that will have a lot of people scratching their heads. so no worries. If anything I say is odd, just ask..I will at least try to clarify.
