  • how to deal with phone stalkers...

This happened to one of my friends back when I was in the Navy. He owned 4 bedroom house and rented the other 3 rooms out. Two roommates were Navy, and the third was a former shipmate.

    So... the cast will be...
    Friend: F
Roommate 1: R1 (roommate 2 doesn't really appear in this)
    Former shipmate: FS
    Stalker: (self explanatory)

R1 tried out some dating network and had been set up on a blind date with Stalker. He hadn't yet met her but... soon after talking to her on the phone she started getting weird. And rude.

She started calling R1 a LOT. She started calling late at night. F was pretty pissed off about the last one cos he didn't want her calling after 10 PM... no one did really.

It got to the point where R1 said, "Hell I don't even want to meet her now."

    But she kept calling...

    Until FS answered the phone.

    Stalker: *ring ring*
FS: *using his "work voice"* IF YOU EVER CALL THIS HOUSE AGAIN I WILL HAVE YOU ARRESTED FOR HARASSMENT!!!!!!

    Stalker never called again.

of course... FS's "work voice" was so effective because... after he got out of the Navy, he joined the local police force.

if FS's work voice is anything like The Boy's work voice...them's some scary shit right thar! he only used it once around me and that was when our upstairs neighbor was being loud every night and ignoring our requests to keep it down. i think it's a military thing. they give you a bit of responsibility over a few guys and they hand you a voice that's scary as shit.

Quoted for truth. I know several former military men, including my dad (a former Green Beret who currently practices tai chi chuan in his spare time), who are still very much capable of using this one specific tone of voice that makes the walls shake and animals flee for safety when the situation calls for it. Scares the crud outta me to hear it, even if it's not being directed at me.

Holy cow, my husband's rage-voice is scary enough, and he isn't in the military.
He once stopped an entire Super-Walmart because some kid called me a slut.

I've been told I not only have The Voice, but The Look and The Appearance. Yes they should be capitalized lol. Been told several times "You are the one person here I would not want to make angry." Think it is why they really wanted me as a security officer (for some reason it is taboo to say 'guard' *shrugs*).

Even the biggest EW's and SC's tend to calm down when I am near, even if I don't work someplace. As long as they don't find out I am just a big teddy bear..it's all good
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

You sound just like my very dear friend K. Known him for nigh on 30 yrs and he is a lovely great cuddly bear - MOST of the time. It takes a lot to get him angry but when it happens, oh brother, everyone ends up running to get out of the fallout zone.
Engaged to the sweet Mytical He is my Black Dragon (and yes, a good one) strong, protective, the guardian. I am his Silver Dragon, always by his side, shining for him, cherishing him.

Heh, I actually have a couple of amusing stories about that. To not take this any more offtopic (sorry about that), I will make another thread about it . Looking back on them they are funny.
