So, the only one of those that would actually work as a pre-teen melodrama (because you know that's what they're going to do seeing as they can't do anything else) would be Mister Miracle, and even that's a stretch. Why?

Catwoman - Never got into the game until she was older, so that writes the CW formula right out. Besides, her character only comes into it's prime when played off Batman, and even the bloody signal gets expensive to license.

Nightwing - Only went solo after a falling out with Batman, which didn't happen until he hit late 20s and became disillusioned with him. Once again, CW shtick is ruled out. As well, despite his claim of trying to break away, people automatically associate him with the dark knight, so no bat appearance means no stability.

Wonder Girl - Irrefutably going to get people saying "it's wonder woman as a girl (ie the first incarnation, though never really called that), wait, she's not even related to her apart from having similar powers?" And the en mass exodus begins. The only thing she has going for her is a background that's effectively pre-built for CW.

The Question - I'd almost like to see CW try this one just to see how badly they can mess it up. Most of the time he plays out like a detective novel, with a few minutes fighting mixed in whenever he finds out a clue. In short, he makes for an interesting side character, but as a mainliner, particularly done by a group where if it's not teen angst, it's combat? No, just no.

Vixen - A female hero who when isn't fighting crime, is sole purpose is looking hot. Yeah, how long did Birds of Prey last? Sexual display only goes so far before it becomes plain, and I don't see CW actually putting any effort to flesh out the character beyond that.

Mister Miracle - Now this one reeks of CW's formula, but once again, he is best played off another character, in this case Darkseid and the warriors of Apokolips, as they are the only ones who's a challenge for him. So unless they keep throwing those guys at him (who run on a premise of "fight to the death"), then he doesn't have much going for him. And throwing Apokolips fighters and Darkseid at him will get redundant anyways. Besides, they don't even get to earth until he's in his mid 30's.

Yeah, I'm bitter today. But it grates on me. Smallville only lasted this long partly because people wanted to see him turn into Superman fully and partly because CW just did not want to have to come up with something new. So we get 10 seasons of teen angst and a canon hacked into place just to give other heroes and villains screen time, when in EVERY other canon, he never dealt with any of them until he became superman. Basically, the only reason Smallville lasted this long was because The title and Clark Kent are synonymous with Superman, who has a signature following that rivals Mickey Mouse. The only other DC character that has that is Batman, and his licensing rights are tied up. No one in that list is any higher than C-list hero, and would not last for a season on it's own.

this is why im saying the Flash.
Some times he became the flash as a teenager and it would work.

and cat woman could work if they go more adult if they go more towards the Catwoman comic and not the batmans catwoman.

          how about...

          Teenaged Dr. Horrible.

but it'd have to be a cartoon cos... it just wouldn't be as magical without the real cast.

but i can just imagine a scrawn...ier... evil kid scientist, trying to woo the sweet redhead, and fighting the cheesy hero.

Well, they've already put down the basis for the Flash in Smallville. They would only need to expand on it.

Personally, I'd love to see them do the Justice League in it's full glory.

I was more excited watching the preview for Season 10. I'm a fan, what can I say...
