  • NC Restaurant Bans Screaming Kids

    http://www.todaysthv.com/news/local/...16689&catid=70

As the parent of kids who have screamed in public, but also as someone who has had to listen to other people's kids scream in public, I'm not sure how I feel about this. Not sure if can be enforced anyway. Opinions?

It seems to me as if they are talking about kids old enough to know better whose parents don't (or won't) get them to settle down. They make a distinction between a crying baby and older kids who are just acting up. (And I agree. Young babies crying don't bother me near as much as older kids who get out of control.)

Regardless, all Armes asks is that if your child is screaming, you take them outside. Armes says, "We aren't saying your child can't have fun. We're not saying your child can't be in here."
Still, the policy from armes has parents up in arms over their next meal. The owner says if a patron's child acts up, a restaurant worker will ask the parents to take the child outside. Armes says she won't ask parents, or their children, to leave the restaurant for good.
They're not saying you can't bring your kid in or that you can never come back if they get noisy. They're just saying keep them under control.

Sorry guys, this one has the potential to turn too quickly.

There is, however, a fairly lively thread about it over at fratching:
