I was helping one of our newer users today in my office and playing from my iPod was "Burning for You" from BOC.

Of course, one rule is that you have to sing along with the "Time to play B-sides" line and after I did the user asked me "what are B-sides?"

this was when dad was in his 20's (so 1980's)
he was in a RECORD store, all the way down at the far end of the alphabet (Yes, the Who, ZZ TOP, etc) and all the way at the other end (the A's and B's) comes this high-pitched squeal (that only tweenage females and dolphins can communicate in) "Oh Missy! Did you know that Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings!?!?!?"

these young ladies were not even a full 10 yrs younger than him....


(and for the record, when i think of Sir. Paul McCartney I think Beatles first - solo career second, and I don't even think about "wings" - that was TV show in the 90's as far as I'm concerned)

I think the concept of music on something other than a digital download was a little hard for him to grasp.

1968-9,we're in Europe for dad's job & I'm 13-14.Dad has bought a monstrous stereo system,big Sansui speakers, big Sansui amp,Dual turntable & a Teac 4-track (2 FW,2 REV),all top-of-the-line stuff back then.I'm in heaven

You could put 2-3 albums on one 7.5" tape,but you had to splice on the metal tape for the Auto Reverse system to work.Teac sold the tool & the special tape,of course dad had 'em.That model had 3 speeds,1 3/8,3 3/4 & 7 fps.
