Since my mom is a long distance truck driver and my brother lives back north, I rarely spend holidays with my family. We just celebrate whenever we can all get together around various school and work schedules. So my best friends family invites me to spend Thanksgiving with them. They live in Tampa and I'm just outside of Orlando, which is a long nasty drive on a good day and would be hell on wheels on a bad day. Like a major holiday. It's actually pretty cheap to take a train over there so I packed up, grabbed a train out the day before Thanksgiving and was supposed to be heading home Saturday night. As of right now, Sunday, I'm still here and will not be leaving until tomorrow night. Apparently, the train from Tampa to Orlando had a breakdown and the 5:16 train didn't actually make it to the station until midnight which would have put me home at 2am, well after the buses stop running and well after I would have been able to pry a friend out of bed to drive me home. I'm glad my friend's family loves me enough to put up with me for an extra couple days. Just keep your fingers crossed that I can get home on Monday because I miss my kitty.
