  • I told myself I'd never do it again....

I used to come to CS a looong time ago. Never really posted much, but loved getting a chuckle out of all the familiar stories here. You see, I worked in retail. I hated it. Sure, you meet some nice fellow workers, but it's still customer service. Finally one day, I did what we all dream of doing. I walked out of my job, and spent two years doing nothing but pursuing my hobbies and passions. Oh, it was bliss. And I made a promise to myself: I would never work in customer service again.

Well, now the money's run out. And here I am about to start work at my local video store. Ringing people up. Answering questions. Getting yelled at by customers. Working a "flexible" schedule. Taking phone calls, etc., etc. I guess it just wasn't my time to transcend the world of customer service yet. That's for the fates to decide. I don't know.

But anyway, I look forward to ranting here and reading all of your rants!

Oooooooooooo, if only I had the cash to quit working and pursue hobbies.

Actually, I don't know what I'd do with myself. But I have decided recently that I don't want to work for a living. I actually shared this information with my boss during performance review, would you believe? Not that it matters, since working for a living is not optional if I want to maintain the lifestyle to which I am accustomed.

However, if I win Lotto, I'm outta here. Not that I buy tickets. Maybe I'll win one of those email lotteries where you don't actually put your name into it but you get an email saying you've won, you just have to pay a small processing fee to collect your massive winnings.

        Hey there, TheVidyaMonkey
        back to CS.
Not sure when you were here before as a member.

It was great that you got to live a dream for a while.
Sadly, we need money to pay the bills, and sometimes, customer service is all that's hiring.
I think there are probably worse jobs, though.

Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.
