  • Small gripe about Amazon customer (or "Because I have nothing better to do")

I have a few books for sale on Amazon, it seems a good way to get a bit of money back for them, since they're books for courses at uni that I will never read again (I even found some from my A levels to sell, score!), and generally it seems to go without a hitch. Today I got my first ever cancellation, which in itself is not a problem, the guy messaged to say he wanted next day delivery, which isn't offered on my stuff because I just can't guarantee I'll be able to even post it in time for next day delivery (and I can't afford it!)

anyway... this email was sent at about 10am, it is now 20 past 5 and I've only just sat down at the computer... to find email after email "please cancel my order" "please cancel my order" "please cancel my order"... almost hourly since 10... as if I have nothing better to do than sit and wait for emails!

Since I hadn't even SEEN that there was an order until the same time I saw he'd cancelled it, he was in no danger of having it posted to him anyway!

I know its not much, but the implication that I was inconveniencing him by having a life irked me... especially when I've had a REALLY busy day!

I've seen this with my wife trying to sell things through Amazon, a lot of buyers seem to have no clue that it's other normal people on the other end as opposed to big businesses...

        Better yet...*rubs hands together*...

Do that for the first one, then respond to the next with "Cancellation cancelled. Your order should be there by ..."
...and go back and forth for each one until you've reached critical mass on "how many times can I fit the word "cancelled" into one email or you run out of emails to respond to
