  • ESP ... maybe it's real, LOL

For some time now I've been looking online for a friend I met when we were both taking part in a government youth program a few decades ago ... tried everything I could think of and couldn't find her. I had pretty much given up. Then today my email tells me I've got someone trying to contact me via my LinkedIn profile (which I rarely bother to update or anything ...)

    Guess who???

Oh, I'm quite certain it works. I've done it. Scared a couple of people rather badly in the process.

I've had this kind of thing happening to me sometimes.

Like I'll be listening to my iPod on random, one song will play, and I'll think about some other song that is related to it in my head. Next song that queues up? The song I was thinking about.

Last week, I found myself thinking about the homemade chicken pot pies that Mom would make. That day when I came home, Mom says she's going to make chicken pot pie.

I don't know if it is ESP, but yes I've spooked people before. I have a lot of Deja Vu moments also.

answer a question before its asked? all the time...
know when a specific person is in the same building as me, w/o having seen them - it happens

know where someone's keys, lighter, or cell phone is - when I wasn't there when they put it down - do that too - also help find the keys and lighter, when on the phone with someone

My mom had a dream about someone we hadn't seen or heard from since I was about 7 (and I'm 23 now). He was a good friend of my dad's, they grew up together and were neighbors.

He found my mom and I on Facebook a couple of days later and messaged my mom. We all got dinner together a couple of nights ago.

Rugz and I have this all the time. One of us will be thinking about something, and it will come out of the other's mouth. Or one person will call out from a room: "Pardon? Sorry, I missed part of what you were saying." and the other will reply from a different room, "I didn't actually say anything but I was thinking..."

We can't keep surprises from each other, no matter how hard we try.

Oh, I truly believe in ESP. I've had too many ESP moments in my life not to. It ranges from knowing who is on the phone when it rings, without looking at caller ID and without knowing they were going to call, to thinking something will happen, then having it happen. Example: I was driving to work in a storm recently, and had the thought that I'd get to work and the lights would go off. Sure enough, I got to work and the lights went off, though only briefly. I'm also prone to premonition dreams. Once, I dreamed that I needed to call my sixteen-year-old niece, something was wrong with someone in her family. Not two days later, I found out that said niece has a thyroid disorder. I've also dreamed of family members being in the hospital, then had it come true some time later. I've actually spooked one of my best friends with my foresight. Hell, I've actually spooked myself with it!

My mother and youngest aunt (twins) will start conversations in the middle all the time. I usually am with them when they do.

Nekojin and I will say the same thing at the same time with the same inflection all the time. And we always trade a look after, too. It's definitely in that couple-cute bordering on creepy zone.

I've also caught myself starting conversations in the middle with him. Sometimes he's confused but sometimes he's with me.

My best friend and I freaked her daughter out one time with that.

My BF was on the computer and I was reading a book when I had a thought.
Me: Hey, what's that guys name? You know who I'm talking about.
                        BF: O.o Shel Silverstein?
                        Me: Yes! Thanks!
BFD: What the hell, you guys?!?! That's creepy!

BFD twitched for ages...it was awesome. . She is almost 20 now, they've lived with me for years, and she still finds it freaky when her mom and I speak in stereo or finish each others sentences.

There's something that Nekojin and I do all the time (and I've seen it ripple out to others around us) that I like to refer to as "mind share."

The gist is that you'll be trying to think of something, and the moment you get another person thinking about the same thing, it pops into your head, clear as day.

With me and Nekojin it's to the point where we don't even have to explain what it is we're trying to think of, we just ask for help.

Yes! We do this too and it seems to work more often with our family of choice rather than blood relations. Also, the giving/sharing of information just before it's needed.

Ugh I hate deja vu episodes, I feel like I'm having an electrical short. The worst are when specific information is involved.

Most esp episodes I seem to have are linked with my mum. I think of her she calls and vice versa. Dreaming subconcious created music or books is the most common thing I get, my dad as well. Drives me nuts because I can't play or write anymore so I can't write 'em down.
