  • I can't control every thing!

I had an old lady come up to the hotel's front desk and complain because there was a car in our parking lot that had "offensive" bumper stickers. I don't know what she expected me to do...go out there and scrape them off or maybe kick the guest out. I just apologized, wasn't sure what I was apologizing for, it's just a reflex, I just apologize for everything.
I did go out and look at the car and it a hand giving the finger and a decal that said "My other toy has tits". I think this is pretty mild on the offensive scale, but then again maybe I'm insensitive. I apologize

Or complaining for its own sake.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe people have so little self-perception that they wouldn't realize going up to some random stranger and expecting them to do something about a bumper sticker that isn't even on their car makes them look like a complete and total fool and that the person they are talking to probably thinks they are brainless.

Geez, you have to be really close to a car to see what it says, and even then, so what? It's the person's car, they can do what they want with it. Just as the lady has her own car and leaves it...however the way she leaves it. You know what? I'm offended by her lack of bumper stickers, you should do something about that.

Hmmm....I think I don't like that bumper sticker. But why complain to the hotel? That's silly.

Really what did she expect you to do?

proof of one of my theories:
people like blaming employees for the actions of other customers. cos you can't get the customer "fired" for offending you... but if you turn it into an employee issue you can get the employee punished for it.

I would have stared at her with the most blank expression on my face that a mannequin would not only be envious, but perhaps suicidal at it's life-like continence. After a few moments (or hours in SC time) I would ask her if she had planned to spend the night in the parking area and stare at the spot where those dreadful bumper stickers were.

I hate the idiots who complain about bumper stickers. My last car had at least ten of them, all funny and humorous. When a cop pulled me over for a nonworking taillight, I really made his evening when he told me to get out of the car so he could show me his favorite one, and I just got a warning for the taillight!
Another time, some idiot driver pulled up to me at an intersection, offended from one bumper sticker of mine that said, "IF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL, WHY DO CHURCHES BEG FOR IT?" and he started insulting me because of my "un-Christian" views. Being that I'm a Christian myself and seeing the humor in this particular sticker while being completely judged for it by someone who thinks he's completely perfect, I told him I was going to get out of the car and punch his sneering face in if he had one more thing to say. He hit the gas and tore out of there real fast. Too bad. I was actually looking forward to a good fight.

But the point is, people should just shut the hell up about bumper stickers. If there is one that offends you, keep it to yourself and stop expecting the business where the car is parked at to do something about it. Tampering with someone's car just because a customer wills it is still against the law.

Now I want that bumper sticker. Not that I have a bumper to put it on.

Because they're taking the burden of the evil, of course!

Yup, it's an offensive sticker. Nope, it's not your problem. God, I wonder if she calls the police next. -_-

The only thing I find offensive about that is that it's an incorrect quote. It's the LOVE (or desire depending of which version you have) of money that is the root of all evils.

Or put religious propaganda under your windshield wiper because you have stickers that say "Pagan & Proud", "Goddess Bless America", and "Gimme dat old time religion (with pentagram)".
Beats active vandalism because of said stickers...

Okay folks, let's keep this thread from going down the religious path . . . that's better suited for Fratching.

If it continues, the thread will be closed and infraction(s) issued.
