I got a letter in the mail today, and I admit.. I cried. As of Oct 17, 2012 I am going to receive my first disability check (it will be for September). I don't know yet if I am going to get a lump sum or not or just the payments..but it doesn't matter. I was so relieved it was not funny. Making it till October will be difficult, but not impossible. I feel like celebrating, I feel like dancing..I feel like just crying like a infant. I want to thank the whole board for their prayers, their help, and letting me help them (because believe me..helping others helps me more then you know). I am blubbering, anyhow...thank you all again.

That is so great! And such a relief for you!! It should be retroactive - when I got the VA determination it went back to the day after I ended active duty. If it doesn't say on the letter, you may be able to call to find out.
