I am really lucky - I have worked as a manager in my current pub for almost a year now ... Never had any major complaints or overly ride guests ... But today - that all changed ..

We had a wait for food as we suddenly got heaving early in in the evening - so this woman had to wait a little longer for her food. One of my waitresses delivered the food - and all seemed fine. I was running food out of the kitchen, when I say said women stand up , knock her chair over and scream at my colleague...

I quickly ran over an tried to calm the women down - she calmed down and explained her issue - her chicken was 'too juicy'.. I politely explained it was how the dish was served - but I was more than happy to replace it or get her something else of the menu ... She then started screaming and shouting at me - my whole pub went silent and all eyes were on us ... 'that's not fucking good enough I never want to eat here again!!!' as she snatched her kids meal off him and thrusted it at me (at this point kid starts to cry) ...

Politely told them I would get them a full refund and complimentary drinks while there child finished there meal - at this point I was called 'stupid' ...

My solution - Put the money on a bill tray and put on the table ... She snatched from my hand - knocking the cash everywhere ...

Needless to say - not a good shift!!

Chicken too juicy? What? How is that possible?

Just because she's used to how she cooks chicken, doesn't mean that it's always gotta be rubber. A properly cooked chicken can be the correct internal temperature and have juice! (So, I can't get it that way, but that doesn't mean it can't be done!)

Another case where the kid was better behaved than the "responsible" adult. Sheesh... Refund her money and toss her the heck out if you can. I'd hate to be the table next to that.
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

First story I've read where the customer was bitching about getting properly prepared food... Although I'm sure it's not the last!

Cook the chicken (or turkey) no higher than 160(F), and let the meat rest 5-10 minutes before eating/carving. Juicy chicken (or turkey) every time.

Ehh, we cook to 200 and we STILL get complaints about 'raw' chicken. I get chicken 'plucking' duty, open it up, nothing is raw, just not a dried out dog biscuit like they want.

Ugh. We can and will burn food for them if they'd like, it's not a health hazard like serving rare is, but they need to ask, not lie about it being 'raw'.

I'll never understand why people get so upset about food. I'm sure there are people in third world countries who would love that chicken.

Screw the third world, I loves me some nice moist properly cooked chicken. I am funny that way, I would rather have chicken over steak, and shrimp over lobster. Give me a nice plump beef, chicken, duck or pig heart and the makings for my favorite dish over fois gras and truffles.

What? I have a liking for comfort foods.

Reminds me of a time back at Local Fast Food place I worked at. I had someone try to tell me that our "grilled" chicken wasn't cooked.

This chicken COMES to us pre-cooked, we then put it through the broiler, and then once it was actually ORDERED we use the microwave to heat it BACK up. There was no way this chicken was not "done"

Why did she say it wasn't done? "It's still white!"
