  • Update on University parking office

    http://www.customerssuck.com/board/s...ad.php?t=92329

My co-worker received a call from one of the university parking office employees asking him how was he doing. Apparently he give the parking office his cell phone number. Turns out that the university parking office went with an outside agency to staff the visitor parking booth.

According to the parking office employee, the employees working in the booth...one per shift... leave the 2 gate arms up a lot. So that means....
    • the employee is not assisting the customer at the visitor parking booth window, which is what the client supervisor wanted us to do
    • if the employee is doing this a lot, I wonder if they do this when Visitor parking is reserved for events. If so, then anyone is parking in the garage.
    • what is the likelihood that the employee is helping anyone at the exit gate who has a problem with their ticket, which they use to pay for their parking at the pay station or with their validated ticket that they get from the dept. *if they are here for an event or if the dept. gives them one*?
    • they are not watching the faculty/staff garage for anyone needing assistance *the client supervisor expected us to do that*
    • if someone has a problem at the exit gate, that person could tell the parking office that no one helped them at the visitor parking booth window.

The client supervisor is big on saving money. I wonder how much of a mess it is at Visitor parking.

That seems to be the motto of this decade... "Replace good with bad".
Why do they make Superglue but not Batglue?

Actually, in proper Monopoly rules, Free Parking is just a break for a turn. It has no powers to give money.
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

No one plays by those rules lol. We always put taxes into the center of the board, then whomever hits free parking gets the pot lol.

It's so I can get ideas out of my head, I decided to put it in a blog in case people are bored or are curious as to the (many) things in progress.

And that's one of the reasons that Monopoly sucks. Too many people think the game should go forever with no real winner.

... actually, it sucks for a lot more than that. [Insert plug for my local gaming club, with six HUGE cabinets full of games, 99+% of which are better than Monopoly, plus more games that the members bring, and regularly having over 100 people at each meeting.]

I managed to recently pick up a copy of a game called runebound. Oh my god is it fun.
Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

I rarely play Monopoly anymore, last time was once in college where there were shots you had to take depending on what occurred on your turn. Free parking was that you got a plate of pizza rolls.

I typically play a game called Ascension, way more fun, and you can tailor the game to however long or short you want it to be using the pot of honor points.

perhaps you should start playing it with Jenna Marble's rules (possibly nsfw, language)

Right now the parking company I work for is having me work wherever they need me to. My hours vary depending on where I am working.
                        • I have worked as a parking lot attendant in the morning
                        • I have worked as a parking lot attendant for special events
                        • I have worked at a parking attendant at a parking garage

                        Today I work at a parking garage from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for a special event.

Yesterday I worked at the same garage from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. I was supposed to get off work yesterday at 3 p.m., but the garage manager *who was the parking company manager over the account at the university* asked me if I could stay longer to be trained by the 2nd shift attendant on the cash register for credit card transactions. Then there was a problem with the intercom inside the parking garage office. It was not beeping when someone pressed the call button at one of the exit gates. The intercom lights up though, but the garage manager could not see the light because he was at his computer, & the intercom is on the other desk inside the office. He asked me to watch the intercom for any calls. There was an event last night, & one of the night-time attendants did not show up, & so I was asked to cover for him. He is supposed to work tonight.

I saw one the employees who works for the Facilities dept. at the university while I was going to work one morning earlier this week, & he told me that one of the university faculty/staff parking permits went up in price from $85.00 to $200.00.
