  • Elementary, my dear Watson

So for the past few days, we noticed the drawer at the desk was coming up short by a dollar. Today, just as I came in for my shift, Sally opened up a roll of quarters to give a guest $0.44 change. Quick math will tell you that $0.25 from $10.00 is $9.75. I counted the drawer as a part of my opening my shift. NOW the drawer is $1.75 short.

10 feet away is a soda machine that charges $1.75.

So, there are 2 possible scenarios:

#1). A co-worker refunded a guest, and didn't note it in the system (or anywhere else).

#2). A co worker got thirsty.

Another possibility is that the money fell out of the drawer, possibly getting stuck behind it or under a counter or floormat or something. Every day for the past few days. And let's not discount aliens beaming some petty cash up for closer scrutiny. Really. Those aliens are a bargain as it is.
Why do they make Superglue but not Batglue?

Yeah, I agree that such a nice neat amount is suspicious.
