I may be showing my age in finding this funny but...

I just realized that while I am barefoot in the kitchen cooking dinner, my wife is out signing our daughter up for basketball.

Guess who taught the husband how to use power tools? Most of the various saws and drills and whatnot out in the shop are mine.

Don't feel bad. Men who cook are hot.

When my BF and I move in together, it is entirely possible that I'll be the one who supports us and he'll stay home and take care of the house and/or kids.I'm also the one who enjoys and has a basic grasp of handymanning. Fixing things is fun.

Ive been the bread winner for the entirety of our 9 year marriage. He works every now and then, when theres a need. We figured it made for sense for him to stay home with the kids than to pay for day care. He also has finally learned how to cook. THANK GOD. Hes pretty resistant to the idea of a mini van though....cant figure out why..

Stereotypes are alive and well in my house. Hubby was out installing a new transfer case in the truck and I was barefoot in a skirt making a roasted chicken dinner in the kitchen.

At my old theater, at one point there were 3 women carpenters in the scene shop, only two of whom were lesbians And the master electrician was also a woman.

Also, male costume designers and drapers are not unusual. Except when they're straight.

I cook. And am pretty damn good at it. (Though I don't bake.)

My stepsister, on the other hand, knows her way around a tool set and a car engine....which I definitely do not.

My fiance loves to cook and often comes round to cook dinner for me. ^^ He's also manically tidy, which I am not.

It's like that in our house too. I'm the primary payer of bills, so Mr. Wooden does most of the housework (including my laundry, bless his heart lol). I do the cooking though. He is not allowed near my stove except to clean it.

Boyfriend and I seem to be on fairly even terms even though we haven't officially moved in together.

When I was house-sitting with him for a week though, we shared cooking duties. Although we both know our way around power tools (thank god for a carpenter dad), I am also capable of paying my bills on time whereas boyfriend is not. (I have been able to pay both my rego and car insurance on time, whereas boyfriend has been delayed on both)
